Each demo is a small model of how a Chlorine setting behaves, so you can feel the idea before you install. They're illustrations, not benchmarks.
Built around the busy bits
Minecraft has a lot going on at once. Chlorine focuses on the parts you can tune, without trying to replace the systems that already do their job well.
Give the world a little breathing room when frames dip, then let it recover when things settle.
Throttle distant mob decision-making while leaving nearby mobs and their physics alone.
Keep bursts of sounds and particles from piling up all at once, one optional setting at a time.
Lower the FPS cap while the game is unfocused, with an option to hide clouds too.
Spread light-update bursts and the periodic autosave over several frames, and skip far-away detail you can't see anyway.
Simple by design
Add Chlorine to your Fabric instance alongside Fabric API and Cloth Config.
Open the config screen or edit the JSON file. Every feature can be switched off.
Start with the defaults and adjust gradually for your world and hardware.
A good neighbor
Chlorine 1.0.8 works directly with Sodium's 26.3 renderer while the other companions remain optional.
Good to know
No. Its adaptive tuning works with simulation distance; render distance is intentionally left alone to avoid expensive chunk render graph rebuilds.
For Chlorine 1.0.3+ on Minecraft 26.3, Sodium 0.9.2 or newer is required because the workload governor integrates with Sodium's renderer. Lithium, FerriteCore, EntityCulling, ImmediatelyFast, and Iris remain optional.
Results depend on your hardware, world, entity count, and mod setup. Chlorine provides configurable tools, not a universal FPS guarantee.
